Outstanding! The ending shattered my heart.

My Review:

Infatuated with the hunter, the brother of your closest confidant. Deceived by your most trusted friend. Bound by a duty you believed you should fulfil.

A majestic storytelling with themes of identity, trauma, morality and complexities of survival. Set in a society driven by prejudice and fear, Rune and Gideon’s forbidden attraction ignites transforming into a heart-wrenching love affair. Both characters haunted by their pasts, now find themselves with the personal desire to do good against evil.

The plot was compelling with its unexpected twists and turns. We are given an intriguing world and well-developed characters. The story lingers even after closing its final page.

EDIT (Updated it to 5stars after much deliberation. I was initially unsure of a fitting closing statement, so here it goes.)

Overall, Crimson Moth is a captivating read that lingers in the mind. The author has successfully created a world that is both enchanting and thought-provoking. Many of the scenes are powerful reflections of the things written down in history making the story relevant. The story highlighted poignant reminders of our society’s struggles with acceptance and the fear of the unknown. Through the characters, we witness the timeless battle between those who embrace the differences and those who seek to suppress them. It was a delightful read and a successful start to the series.

Famous Highlights:

“I remember the sound of your laugh,” he said as the back door of the house came into view. “It pulled me like a magnet toward the beach, where I found the most beautiful girl in the world standing on the shore.”

Remarks:
  • Enemies to lovers to enemies
  • Witch Hunter
  • Love Triangle
  • Loads of Sacrifices
  • Bound by duty
