My Review:
Hope is truly the heartbeat of the soul.
I was conflicted when reading this book but it was such a page-turner that I found myself turning the pages anyway. I felt heartbroken for all of them truly, I clung on to the hope that there would be better days for all of them.
As many other reviews pointed out, the heroine (Aimee) is about to marry when disaster strikes the private jet she boarded to her wedding destination. This left her and the handsome pilot (Tristan) stranded in the dense Amazon jungle. The story is about survival and how fate plays wicked games to make you find true happiness.
It was well-written and if I am watching this as a movie, I most probably have found myself holding my breath in instances as the scenes unfold. My favourite part is at the end, it was bittersweet but I love that the author gave the story closure.
What I didn’t like so much, somehow, I felt super bad for Aimee’s fiancee. I felt the guilt she should have, for some reason, her guilt in the story felt shallow. There were only a few chapters with Tristan’s POV, I think that if there were more the story could have had a better dimension.
All in all, it was an enjoyable read.
